Nothing Lasts Forever Tuesday, January 12, 2010

아무것도 영원히 지속
Nothing Lasts Forever
It's called a break-up because it's broken.

TWO-SHOT; SunTOP.

부분을 하나의; Part One
rofl, i just thought it was cool to put up some korean words :P

Tears began to swell up in her eyes as she heard yet another story about her boyfriend from her friends.

“Sunye , when was the last time you had sex with Seunghyun?” One of them, Yubin, asked anxiously.

It had been a long while.

She shifted her eyes timidly at her coffee, refusing to become the pity corner again. Inside, she was feeling her faint heart breaking apart once again.

“I hope I don’t come out as offensive, but I’m really worried. You know how the industry works. He’s surrounded by women everywhere...” Yeeun’s voice trailed off when she saw the tears bursting out from the corner of Sunye’s eyes.

--“I’m sorry.”

Sunye forced a smile at her friend, but no matter how hard she tried to stop crying, she couldn’t.

She was hurt. Seunghyun had managed to carve yet another scar on her fragile heart.

Her two friends came over and gave her a tight, comforting hug.

“You don’t deserve this,” Yubin told her. “You deserve someone better. I’ve grown sick of him fooling you like this.”

Time and time again, people kept on telling her that. It was not that she hadn’t thought of it, she had, but it just seemed too much for her. Sunye loved Seunghyun more than words could ever describe. She had been with him for so long; she practically grew with him throughout their most important years. Sunye believed she would crumble without him by her side.

“I’m thinking of going to your apartment today.”

“But, we have a photoshoot later, babe. It’s gonna be a busy day.”

He was lying again. Sunye had asked Youngbae earlier and she was told today was one of those rare free days they were given.

She sighed.

But then again, she was supposed to be used to being hurt by him, wasn’t she?

“What time are you going back? I’m thinking of cooking you guys dinner. I haven’t done that for quite some time.”

There was a pause on the other line.

“Babe, I’m sure Daesung would be thrilled as he obviously loves your pasta, but we’re going home late, really late. I don’t want to trouble you. You have to work tomorrow.”

“I can ditch work for a day. I miss you so much.”

“We’ll meet up this weekend okay.”

Angered and frustrated, she hung up on him immediately.

“Break-up with him.”

Sunye shook her head at her sister’s request.

“You’re smart, you’re pretty and you’ve got an amazing career. Girls would rather be jealous of those points than to be jealous about your relationship with that so-called big time superstar, TOP.”

“I love him.”

“Open your eyes, for god’s sake. This guy is not the same sweet person who proposed to you back in high school. He’s a completely different person now and he isn’t worth your time,” Sohee continued, with both her hands on Sunye’s shoulders.

She needed to shake some common sense in her lovesick older sister.

“He doesn’t care anymore.”

“He does!!” Sunye almost yelled.

She was in denial – one as deep as an ocean.

“No, he doesn’t. He’s such a coward. Which caring boyfriend declares he’s single and hides his relationship with his long-time girlfriend? Image, my ass. He doesn’t even bother to spend time with you anymore. He is an ungrateful bastard. You were with him when he was struggling during those trainee years, but look what fame has brought into his thick head.”

Sunye was hit by the harsh reality in her sister’s words, and started crying again. She had been crying way too much for her own good of late.

“You can do so much better...” Sohee said, wrapping her arms around her.

“I don’t know how to, okay?! I’m stuck with this loser, and I can’t seem to get myself away from him.”

“I’ll help you get through this, I promise.”

“Seunghyun ah.”

“Hmm?” he said, searching through the stacks of DVDs.

“Don’t search for it anymore.”

He was insistent. “But you wanted to watch it. I asked Youngbae to buy it for me, so it must be here somewhere.”

The weekend had arrived and there they were together in the bachelor apartment he shared with his band.

Sunye had thought long and hard, and she knew she would regret it later, but she had to do it. The relationship had come to a point where it was literally suffocating her.

“Let’s break-up.”

For a moment or two, he just froze hearing what she had to say. When he regained composure, he turned around and looked at his girlfriend who had such a dazed look on her face. It was like she was numb.

“What did you just say?”

“Let’s split.”

“What?”

A/N: Sorry. I'm too caught up with life of late. This was Part one of the two parts of 'Nothing Lasts Forever'. I was gonna post SunChun/JaySun, but rewatching the WB music drama changed my mind. No worries, the mentioned ones are coming soon... and more. Gosh, I hate school.

Going Strong Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Pairing: TOP/Sunye

"TOP's new love connection?" he said in disbelief, as he read a blog in the Internet.

People had been linking him, romantically, to another celebrity. The rumour started out when they did a special stage collaboration over a week ago. Apparently, someone had
proof him and the girl had overwhelming offstage chemistry, and the false accusation only spread like wild fire in the upcoming days.

Staring at the computer screen, he scoffed at how unbelievably stupid people were. That so-called evidence was of him touching her face backstage. That someone who had proof had taped the scene of the two of them getting off-stage, and he was reportedly
talking so sweetly to her, and then cupped her cheeks with such excitement in his eyes. She was real shy, she was blushing so hard.

He was doing her a favour as a colleague, as a normal person would, removing a confetti stuck on her face, because her hands were full. Sure he was smiling, but why did it bring such outrageous response for him to smile after a great performance? People often forgot he was still a human being after all, with emotions. He was no robot. Not to mention, the video was taped in the dark, and it was absurd how people came up with such conclusions - when they could barely note the hue of her cheeks.

If they were normal people, it wouldn't ever be talked about. But they were famous celebrities. Every little move they made was watched by the public. The cons of being a celebrity.

Sighing, he quickly grabbed his cell phone and began dialling a number which he had by heart. He had gotten so used to calling her, and he couldn't live a day without hearing her voice. She was the driving force that was motivating him to do things in his life. His girlfriend was as important to him as how the Sun was important to human beings.

Choi Seunghyun loved her, and he would never let this silly rumour break her trust - especially since she was so far away from him. He was not going to let it ruin their 2-year union.

"Hey," a beautiful voice said on the other line.

"Babe." Every time he heard her voice, he couldn't help but feel relieved. He just missed her too much.

He heard her yawn, and only then it came to his realisation that it was barely 5 AM in the city of New York. He was too worried the growing rumour would get to her to think about that. Seunghyun felt a little bad, knowing he must have woken her up from her slumber.

"Wow, calling me so early in the morning. Missing me too much?" she teased.

She was admittedly feeling very weary and tired, especially now that she was really busy being in the middle of recording an album. On top of that, she also had college to worry about. But she would always make time for her boyfriend. She didn't mind it at all.

"God knows how much I terribly miss you," he answered, without hesitation.

There were times when he could get crazy just thinking she was on the other side of the world. They were already finding it hard to date in their own country, having no privacy with eyes watching them all the time, carrying the heavy responsibilities of their demanding jobs, let alone now that she was in Manhattan, and him in Seoul. Seunghyun often felt insecure now that she was no longer by his side. He undoubtedly had put in so much trust to her, but he couldn't help the lingering jealous thoughts of her finding a better man out there.

He may not be able to see her face, but he could tell she looked sad. They were emotionally and internally so attached.

"I miss you too."

"Sunye-ah, am I disturbing your sleep?"

"No, oppa. I wanted to hear your voice, anyway. I had a dream about us last night. It made me miss you even more..."

"Don't worry, we'll work this out. You trust me, right?"

"Of course."

"Hmm. There's a crazy rumour about me dating Hyori noona. How ridiculous is that?"

"I heard," she said, before letting out a chuckle. "Hey, you did kiss her before. It was expected people would start talking about it."

He felt so glad Sunye was not buying anything that was said in the gossip blogs and magazines. That was one thing he really loved about her: her strong trust.

"I really regretted that. You dumped me because of that."

"Well, you deserved it, boy. How dare you kissed another celebrity on stage like that when you have a girlfriend. You didn't even tell me about the plan - and I was watching the whole scene with my own naked eyes. Just imagine how terrible I felt."

"She is 8 years my senior! You and Wooyoung had a thing - not scripted like how my incident was. How about that?! If Jae didn't tell me anything about it--"

"We did not have a thing!" she protested before he could even finish. "You thought too much. You should know that I'm real close with the boys. We were partners for the tango, you expect me to stay 10 feet away from him?"

He was still insistent. "And you meant to tell me Jae was bluffing? Wooyoung liked you, and you went along with it. You were flirting with him. Not cool."

She went silent, probably angered about him being so stubborn. He felt bad, and decided to drift the conversation away.

"Babe, I'm so sorry. I got too carried away."

He heard her laugh. "It's alright. HAHA. Why do we still talk about these things anyway?"

"But now thinking back, those hard times made our relationship even more solid," he said, smiling.

"I love you," she said, after a while.

"I love you more," he replied.

"I love you even more."

"I love you like there's no tomorrow."

It was turning into some sort of competition.

"You mean the whole world to me."

"You're my oxygen."

She laughed hearing what he had to say. "Wow, I'm so far away, and you still can feel my oxygen?"

... And their little competition went on for so long.

Hot and Cold [01]

CHAPTER ONE.

Kim Jaejoong. Taken.
Choi Seunghyun. Taken.
Ok Taekyeon. Single... and me likey.

Those three guys are popular in school because they're hot, they're in the school's football team, they're hot, they're rich, they're hot, they're cool, they're hot. Did I mention that they're hot? Our school has this website called JeongHa High Sizzling Gossips, in other words, a spin-off of Gossip Girl (you can laugh all you want, but it’s apparently one of the most visited sites in the area. I bet our thin-faced teachers had something to do with that), which basically reports every hot gossips going around the lives of the popular kids - mainly focused on the trio.

From what I learned, they have been best friends since their diaper days. Jaejoong is the party boy who loves to waste money. I honestly never get the appeal about him at all, way too feminine-looking for my taste. Seunghyun is such a mystery. He's reportedly the joker in their circle, but the only expression I've seen from him in school is that cold, badass "i'm-so-cool" face, which irritates me so much. But then again, I don't see him that much. Taekyeon, this guy is the epitome of perfection. I've always had my eyes on him the first time I saw him - back in the first year of high school. It made me like him more when he got enrolled to my class this year. He is such a sweetheart. Taekyeon is honestly one of the kindest and nicest boys I've met.

"Ok Taekyeon and Min Sunye."

My heart skipped a beat when I heard what my Geography teacher had to say. Did she seriously just say what I think she did?

"Well, hello there, partner," Taekyeon greeted me, with that oh-so-charming smile of his.

I was honestly still in shock. We were assigned as partners for the assignment - oh my god. It all then came to me when I noticed that almost all the girls staring at me, disbelief with the luck I had.

"He-ey." Even after months of talking to him, I could not get over the random stuttering. He was just too much for me to handle.

"So, what do we do?" he asked, oblivious to the pitch-level nervousness overwhelming my entire system.

I reached for the book and nonchalantly (or, at least, tried to sound nonchalant) said, "Hmm, let's see..."

".. Maybe we should do it at your house? Or mine?" he asked after a while.

I swear my heart just lipped out of my chest when his sexy voice mouthed that very suggestion.

--

I couldn't stop smiling the whole day. I felt like a silly little girl, but I could not help it. I was very happy. The last time I felt this way was when Shiyeon became a bit plump when she somewhat plunged into a slight depression, when her then boyfriend, Jay left her for someone else. She must have gained a good 6 kilograms... but of course, she shed those numbers in no time. Unfair.

I was thinking too much about how our, I'd like to refer as, study date would be, that I was not paying attention to anything else. As a result, I happened to bump into none other than Choi Seunghyun, just outside the locker area.

"OMO. I'm so sorry!" I said, as I reached down to help him pick his files.

Our eyes met and for a second, I thought he was going to kill me with the sudden silence. His eyes were intense and they were piercing into mine like a sharp razor blade, and I could sense the eerie feeling down my spine.

Scared, I immediately walked away from the creepy Seunghyun who was still boring holes into my back. Geez, what was wrong with him? It was as if I had used a bulldozer and flattened his beloved Lamborghini Gallardo. Rumour has it that he’s obsessed about the car that he would get it cleaned six times a day. I also heard that he has a nick name for it: Boogy. I know, it boggles my mind too. How gay could he get?

“Min Sunye.”

I stopped in my tracks when I heard a hot husky voice called out my name. Were my ears playing tricks with me, or did Choi Seunghyun just call my name out? The last time I checked, he never talked to me, let alone, knew my name. OMO! Does Taekyeon talk to him about me? ... Forgive me for my utter optimism; I was still on a Taekyeon-high.

Slowly and gracefully, I turned my head around to face Seunghyun, who was looking straight at me.

“Me?”

He made a face as if I was asking the most obvious question possible. After a good second or two, he eventually made his way towards me and caught up. There I was thinking about the worst possible outcome, I could so imagine him strangling my neck because I bumped into him and caused his things to drop on the concrete floor, because he just looked that scary. But guess what happened?

“Do you want to grab an ice-cream together?”

Just imagine my expression: flabbergasted beyond belief.

--

I must have looked like an idiot.

It had been hours since I arrived back home, but I still couldn’t digest the fact that I ran away when Seunghyun said something as simple as grabbing an ice-cream. Oh my god. I must have looked like a freak – a freaky fat girl. I had no idea why Seunghyun would say something like that, or how he had known my name, but those were of the least of my worries. I just ran away from him, for god’s sake. He must be thinking I was weird.

“Do you want to grab and ice-cream together?”

Instead of asking him why, how or any of those rational things, I actually ran away from him. Like, for real, running away like he was some monster.

“Dinner is served,” I heard a voice from outside my door.

“Ok--”

I was interrupted by a loud thud, coming from the next room – Shiyeon’s room, to be precise. The girl had a princess syndrome, and I doubt if she would ever change. But just because she was the special one and that she thought she could do anything she wanted because my parents loved her, it did not mean she had to rudely shut her door like it was made from steel or something.

However, since I was such an angel, I decided to check what was wrong with her.

“Unni, what’s wrong?”

Right there lying helplessly on the bed was Min Shiyeon bawling her eyes out. She was always a bright, chirpy girl, and to see her like that was a shocker.

Worried, I came closer and joined her on the pastel pink bed. My sister was crazy for everything pink. One more reason why people liked her more than me: She was a proper young woman who, well, you know, did all the girly (boring) things. Me? Not so much.

“What does she have that I don’t?” she muttered in between her cries.

Oh no. This had to be her boyfriend. Don’t tell me--

“The scumbag cheated on me.”

Honestly, I was never good in consoling. I was horrible. So instead of saying all the witty things that would comfort a heartbroken girl, like how it is in movies, I just hugged her in silence. I had never had a boyfriend, and I hadn’t been hurt before, so despite aware of the fact that she was hurt, I could not really feel what she was going through.

Shiyeon caught Jungmin, her boyfriend of eight months, making out with their mutual friend at their other mutual friend’s house. She was supposed to be there to discuss with their group of friends her special plans for Jungmin’s upcoming birthday. How could her friends be stupid to let that happen, I had no idea. I felt really bad for Shinyeon. Not only had she been cheated by the bastard, she had also lost a whole lot of trust in her so-called friends.

... And we thought he was nothing like Jay.

-----

The next morning was a Saturday, and unlike most Saturdays where I would hibernate my lazy ass off, I was in the car with Shiyeon as early as 8 in the morning. We were heading to he-who-must-not-be-named-in-front-of-Shiyeon’s house, to end everything. According to her, at least she would have a good reason to wear shades since it was daylight. Girl had to cry. If there was one thing I really admired about her, it was her firm take on love and relationships. Shiyeon was no fool who would bring back losers. It may appear too soon, but she wasted no time in packing all his things last night. We didn’t have any sleep at all, placing the many gifts and presents into a humongous box. My sister loved receiving presents, so there were a whole lot of them... But I knew she would crumble again eventually. Therefore, I hope, for the love of god, please let the process be better than the appalling horror during the post-break-up with Jay.

We had been in front of Jungmin’s house for over 10 minutes now, and Shiyeon was sighing non-stop the whole time. It was driving me crazy.

“Unni, have you texted him we’re here?” I said, breaking the silence.

“Oh, yeahhh.” She sounded nervous, and her voice was starting to crack again.

“If it’s too hard on you, I’ll help you give them back.”

She took some time to answer that, contemplating whether to accept my offer or not, but eventually she mouthed, almost inaudibly, a ‘no’.

It was not long until Shiyeon finally hoped off from her Lexus, holding the huge pink box. I sighed helplessly as I watched her approaching the door, where a guy in red was standing. I couldn’t see him clearly because my view was blocked, but it was easy to tell it was Park Jungmin.

Shiyeon cried, losing her grip on the box, thus making it fall on the tiled floor. Her black sunglasses proved useless, because the tears wouldn’t stop flowing. At one point, she cried to the point where she had to kneel down. It was too much for her to handle. It infuriated me how Jungmin just stood there, not moving an inch. He just fcuking stood there.

I immediately got out and rushed to the scene. Before I could even think, I gave the man standing before us a hard kick on his balls. Then again, he deserved it anyway. How could Shiyeon tolerate the bastard and not punch him, or slap him, or do anything that would scathe him? If I were her, I would have brought a knife with me and chopped Jungmin into pieces and fed them off to the stray dogs.

“AAAH!!”

Wait. That didn’t sound like the soft voice Jungmin possessed. It sounded hoarse and husky.

I turned around to confirm my doubts, and to my horror, it was not Park Jungmin. He looked a tad too tanned to be the pale coward. The man I was looking at was also a bit taller than my sister’s loser ex-boyfriend. Worse, it was the boy I ran away from hysterically when he offered to have some ice-cream with me. Choi Seunghyun, who else.

Hot and Cold [00]

Index: [00] [01]

Insecure.

If there's one word to perfectly describe my whole 19 years of living in this sad world, it would have to be insecurity. I grew up in a very good-looking family, with a wealthy background and a booming family business. My parents are highly respected in the corporate world. My sister is on course to be the perfect heiress - she would top the rankings wherever she studies... ever since she started learning. Dad is handsome, mom is pretty, my sister is gorgeous, heck even our bulldog is good-looking. Sadly, I am not. I do not possess my parents' good genes. I am ugly and fat. Okay, truth be told, I am not that bad. I would pass Kim Samsoon in terms of look. But having to see a family picture where you look like an obese elephant next to the toothpick that is Min Shiyeon, my insanely perfect sister, you're just driven to think that way. It's such a sad life.

Just imagine this scene:

It is my parents' anniversary party, and a crowd of high-profile guests are invited to the ballroom. Perfect Shiyeon is the center of attention as she always is (Yawn.), and men are swooning over to her. She has this innocent expression on her face (which is fake) and guys by that time are already going crazy for her.

After all the commotion, she finally approaches me. I'd like to think that she feels bad that I am standing all alone for the past hour, like a statue, but knowing Shiyeon, that would be a joke. She is probably going to tell me about how the men are annoying her with all those lame pick-up lines, when my own naked eyes tell me she loves the attention.

And then, one of our parents' friends comes by and greets us. Oh yeah, imagine her to have such a hard face because of the excessive Botox injections, like how most of my mothers' friends are: superficial.

"Shiyeon ah, omoooo, you're getting prettier every time I see you!" she says excitedly, hugging my sister.

"Oh Sunye ah... you look... great," is what she says about me, with such an unpleasant look on her face.

I do not hate or detest my sister in any way at all. People overrating her may get me sick to the core most of the time, but we are like partners-in-crime. Despite the fact that she leads me to an ocean of insecurities, she is my dearest older sister, after all.

But, when this boy I've liked since forever, starts liking my sister, I wish she didn't exist, or at least, I wish god made her look like shit. Immature, but I
really, really, really like him, okay?
