Selfish; Jay & Sunye
"Is this worth it?"
Sunye gathered all her might and courage to look him straight in the eyes, and felt her heart dropped when she saw the unbearable pain written on them.
But she had always been sacrificing from the get-go, so what difference would one more make? If it was for her career, which she had invested so much in, she was willing to be selfish.
"Yes," she told him truthfully.
The word felt heavy coming from her mouth, and she had lost control of her composure. Before she knew it, the tears were bursting from the corners of both her eyes.
With his hands caressing her wet cheeks, he told her, "Don't you ever wanna run away? Don't you feel suffocated?"
Jay had told himself that that was it. That was the last chance to fix things. If she still wasn't on the same page as him, he would call it quits. He would forget her and everything they had gone through together all those years. Everything would be a mere collection of bittersweet memories.
But like a fool, he still found himself willing to wait. Jay was still hanging onto a blind faith, that one day, things would change. Maybe, one day, she would give up everything for him - just like how he had for her.
But, who was he kidding?
Sunye loved her career, and she was never going to prioritise even her boyfriend over the glamorous life. She was a living proof of the epitome of the very word selfish.
What was sad was that he was stuck on her. Jay could never leave her, it didn't matter how hurt he would get.

A/N: Too busy :( My mind is too exhausted because of the heavy workloads from school, and when that happens, the ideas just don't blossom :/ But, hopefully, things will be back on track.
